Shaykh al-Bura’î: What he asked me regarding was whether Shaykh Rabî’ had said that Yahyâ al-Hajûrî is a Haddâdî? I said:

“Yes. Shaykh Rabî’ has said that.”

He asked me whether he had said that he is an idiot or the like. I then said that Muhammad bin Hâdî was the one who said it and that it is spread on the internet. As for me being the one who said so, is not true. These are the words of the scholars and not mine.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Hâdî: I was asked about him and I answered that he is an idiot. Why would you go to Dammâj? You learn idiocy with him. He is as Shaykh Fâlih [I.e. Ibn Nâfi' al-Harbi] and maybe even worse.

Ibn Taymiyyah: Is the reading when the Imam reads silently obligatory for the one being led, or recommended? There are two opinions in the school of thought of Ahmad. Ibn 'Abdil-Barr: Malik said: When the Imam is reading silently, one reads behind him. When he is reading loudly, one is silent. This opinion is held by Ibn-ul-Musayyab, Salim, az-Zuhri, Qatadah, Ibn-ul-Mubarak, Ahmad, Ishaq, Dawud and at-Tabari. (al-Istidhkar 2/464)

So how can it be so when none of the Sahabah have reported that they used to read al-Fatihah behind him in the second silent period. Had it been prescribed then the Sahabah would have been those with the most right of all humans to know of it and act in accordance with it. Thus we know that IT IS A BID'AH. Ibn Taymiyyah: the Arabic language itself is part of Islâm, and knowing Arabic is an obligatory duty. If it is a duty to understand the Qur‘ân and Sunnah, and they cannot be understood without knowing Arabic, then the means that is needed to fulfil the duty is also obligatory. Ibn 'Uthaymin: A christian European wanted to test a Muslim scholar who sat and ate in a restaurant. He said 'You Muslims say that the Qur'an clarifies everything. How does it clarify how the food you are eating is made of?' The Muslim then called the restaurant owner and asked him and he answered. He thereafter said: So says the Qur'an, namely that we ask the knowledgeable ones if we do not know. (Ahkam-ul-Qur'an 2/214)

The third opinion - and it is the opinion held by the majority of the Salaf - is that if one hears the Imam read, one should then be silent and not read, since the listening to the reading of the Imam is better than reading. al-Qurtubî: They sometimes formulate the trinity by saying "The Father, the son and the Holy spirit". Thus, they mean that the Father is the existence, the son is al-Masîh (Messiah) and the Holy spirit is the knowledge. Ibn 'Uthaymin: Women should not dance for each other due to feared tribulation, regardless of whether it is on weddings or not. ('al-Liqa' ash-Shahri' 35)

adh-Dhahabi: Ibn Taymiyyah was alone in some opinions and that is why he was slandered. But these errors drown in his sea of knowledge. May Allah forgive him. I have not seen anyone as him. (at-Tadhkirah 4/197)

Abun-Nasr al-Maghribi (d. 562): The best intercourse is the intercourse with the person one is attracted to. When one wants to have intercourse with the person one does what is needed to please this person without this one noticing anything. (Nuzhah-ul-Ashab, p. 78)

Ibn Taymiyyah: It has been confirmed from him in as-Sahih that he was silent by the Takbir when he read al-Istiftah and in as-Sunan it is mentioned that he used to be silent two times - once in the beginning of the reading and once after having read, which is a slight silent period in which one cannot read al-Fatihah. as-Sa'di: The person who makes fun of others is oftentimes worse than them. To make fun of people only springs from a heart that is full of bad characters. (Taysir-ul-Karim, p. 801)

Imâm Ibn-ul-Qayyim: He (I.e. Ibn Taymiyyah) lived poorly. He was imprisoned and threatened. But I have never seen anyone as happy as him. (al-Wabil, p. 110)

Ibn 'Uthaymin: Before the man has intercourse with the wife, he should make sure to arouse her so that they become just as aroused. This entails a greater enjoyment and is more beneficial for them both. He should arouse her with kisses, fondling and other than that. Sh al-Albani: I have noticed how people who subscribe to our Da'wah become a bit fond of themselves and self-deceived after a while. Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymîn said: "Everyone have to be Salafiyyûn! Not as a sect, rather because Salafiyyah is truth." (LBM 220)
