Question: Is it allowed to watch films from Afghanistan that show battles between the Muslims and the Kuffâr (disbelievers)?

Shaykh al-Albânî: We do not encourage the people to watch these video films. For all they do is, they arouse one’s feelings. They thereafter cool down and everything again becomes futile. This also belongs to imitating the Kuffâr. The Muslims are obliged to witness these battles themselves, not on video and pictures.

Ibn Qudamah: Nine companions of the prophet said that one does not read al-Fatihah when the Imam is reading loudly. They are 'Ali, Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn Mas'ud, Zayd Bin Thabit, Abu Sa'id, Hudhayfah, 'Uqbah, Ibn 'Umar, Jabir and Ibn-uz-Zubayr. (al-Mughni 2/263)

If one says that He does not exist, He is likened to that which does not exist. Ibn Muflih: It is not obligatory to read al-Fatihah if the Imam is reading loudly. This is reported from 'Ali, Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn Mas'ud, Jabir and Ibn 'Umar. The Majority has this opinion based upon the Hadith: If one has an Imam, the reading of the Imam is one's own reading. (al-Mubdi' 2/51)

Ibn 'Uthaymin: The woman should not be allowed to wear pants at all. Not even with her husband. Ibn Baz forbids it. Ibn Jibrin does it [I.e. forbids it]. al-Lajnah ad-Da'imah does it. I do it. I do not know who the people should go to if not to their scholars. To the ignoramuses? (LBM 135)

al-Albani: Shaikh Rabi' always speaks based upon knowledge. [Majmu'ah v. 1 p. 10]

Ibn-ul-Qayyim: The paradise of the believers and the hell of the disbelievers will always exist. However, the hell of the Muslim sinners will end. (al-Wabil, p. 42)

Muhammed ibn Abd-il-Wahhâb: "Rafidhah are more dangerous for the religion than the jews and christians." (Ar-Radd ´alâ ar-Râfidhah p. 13, afatwa.com)

Ibn Taymiyyah: If it were not to be so, that he reaches something better through listening than reading, it would have been more fitting that he does the best of the two - to read. But when the Book (Qur'an), the Sunnah and the consensus prove that it is better to listen than to read, one knows that he who listens reaches something better than what he who reads reaches. This significance is in al-Fatihah and other than it. Thus, the one who listens to the reading of the Imam reaches something better than what is reached by reading - and thus one is not allowed to be commanded with something lower and be forbidden from something higher.
