Question: We live in cold areas and we use water heaters to heat water. A lot of vapour appears when bathing. Does this vapour affect the person’s fast?

Shaykh al-Fawzân: It does not affect the fast. One should however not intend to inhale it into the throat. One should avoid it. If it were to come into the person unintentionally, no harm is then done.

Gems of wisdom:

Ibn 'Uthaymin: Mufawwidhah say that they do not know what the verses about the attributes of Allah mean. It is as if the prophet says 'Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven' and then being asked: O messenger of Allah! What does that Hadith mean?' And the prophet then says: I do not know [I.e. Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymin is showing how stupid their belief is]. (Sharh-ul-Usul, p. 311)

Ibn Taymiyyah said: "It is however obligatory to condemn the one who shows his innovation unlike the person who covers it and hides it. Since it is obligatory to condemn this one, one does it for example by boycotting him until he refrains from showing his innovation. al-Maghribi: The woman has to make sure not to disrupt the man during the act or reject him when his desire is a fact. The sperm becomes a pain in this case and the man first calms down when it comes out. (an-Nuzhah, p. 90)
